SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayin, Chin States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Mandalay Regions and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C above May average temperature in Kayin State, 2°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Chin, Mon States and 2°C below May average temperatures in Sagaing Region and Rakhine, Southern Shan States and 4°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Manadalay Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.2°C in Chauk, 39.0°C in Nyaunglaybin, 37.4°C in Aunglan, 37.1°C in Magway, 37.0°C in Kawkareik, 36.8°C in Myawaddy, 36.5°C each in Minbu and Myinmu and 36.3°C each in Zaung Tu and Myaungmya on 18-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.01 inches in Sittwe, 1.77 inches in Labutta, 1.70 inches in Ngapudaw, 1.30 inches in Gyobingauk, 1.16 inches in Kangyidaunt, 1.06 inches each in Khayan and Hmawbi(Agro-Met), 0.94 inch in Namsan(Southern Shan), 0.87 inch in Kalewa and 0.83 inch in Mongyang.

BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
