SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions, isolated in Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Northern Shan States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded 2.15 inches in Bogale, 1.61 inches in Mawlamyingyun, 1.57 inches in Myeik, 1.38 inches in Machanbaw, 1.14 inches in Ela, 1.10 inches in Kyeiklat, 0.98 inch in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri), 0.83 inch in Ywangan, 0.79 inch in Nyaung Shwe and 0.71 inch in Phyu.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, a low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West–Northwestwards and further intensify into a Depression over Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 36 hrs.Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm “FENGSHEN” over the South China Sea has moved slowly Southwestwards and it is likely to further intensify into a Severe Tropical Storm “FENGSHEN” during next 6 hours and continues to move Southwestwards.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd October 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago Regions and Chin, Mon, Northern Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwday, Taninthayi Regions. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
