29-11-2025:According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Srilanka has moved Northwards. It is centered at about 785 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 135 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry (India) and 80 Nautical miles North-Northwestwards of Trincomalee(Srilanka). It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and reach over Southwest Bay of Bengal (near the North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India).Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Southwest Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Chin State, scattered in Northern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Kachin and (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Paung (6.30)inches, Launglon (5.67)inches, Dawei (3.94)inches, Thandwe and Hlaingbwe (3.46)inches each, Mudon (2.40)inches, Hlegu  (2.32)inches, Paing Kyone (2.28)inches, Manaung  (2.24)inches, Hainggyigyun (2.17)inches  and Thandaunggyi (2.05)inches. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th June, 2019:  Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing,  Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region, Shan, Chin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 -12)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5 -8)feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
