SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfall in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kawthaung (4.65)inches, Thandwe (2.63)inches, Dawei (2.01)inches, Kyauktaw (1.97)inches, Moemate (1.85)inches, Yangon(Mingaladon) (1.77)inches, Yangon(Kaba-Aye) (1.73)inches, Mogoke (1.46)inches, Zalun (1.18) inches and Yangon (Northern Dagon) (1.02)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th July, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State, scattered in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Shan and Chin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfall in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 - 9)feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4 – 6) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate monsoon.
