2-12-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts and South Andhra Pradesh coasts is centered at about 750 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 80 Nautical miles Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 20 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India). It is likely to recurve slowly Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Depression during next 12 hrs.Weather is generally fair over the Andaman Sea, cloudy over the Northwest Bay and Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Northern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kachin State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Mogaung (6.34)inches, Coco Island (5.90) inches, Myitkyina (4.22)inches, Hkamti (3.74)inches, Monyin (2.56)inches, Pathein (2.13)inches, Hainggyigyun (2.09)inches and Gwa (2.01)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere in Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 01st July, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region, Northern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States. STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, Deltaic, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 10) feet in Gulf of Mottama, Deltaic, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6-8) feet in off and along Rakhine coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
