BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL AFTERNOON OF THE 18th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfall in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 –10) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4 – 7) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
