SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Southern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and Kachin State and isolated heavyfalls in Southern Shan and Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Myitkyina (4.91)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (4.29)inches, Taunggyi (3.51)inches, Putao and Naypyitaw(Zayartiri) (3.07) inches each, Kataingti (2.96)inches, Kamamaung (2.87)inches, Kawthaung (2.52)inches, Belin (2.44)inches and Naypyitaw Airport(Ela) (2.40)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Southern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4 – 7) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
