SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.19 inches in Thaton, 3.15 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.03 inches in Kyonpyaw, 2.87 inches in Paung, 2.83 inches each in Zalun and Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 2.44 inches in Okkan, 2.36 inches each in Pathein and Sittwe and 2.32 inches each in Mudon and Chaungsone.
BAYINFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India has moved west-northwestwards and crossed West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh coasts. It is likely continue to move west-northwestwards and cross West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha and Jharkhand during next 24 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 45 mph. Wave height will be about 14-16 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough to very rough sea will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 10-14 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershowers with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
