SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin, Northern Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Rakhine State, scattered in Kayah, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.41 inches in Paung, 3.11 inches in Yangon(Botahtaung), 2.76 inches in Mawlamyingyun, 2.68 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.44 inches in Hlegu, 1.96 inches each in Hainggyigyun and Myitkyina, 1.46 inches in Thayat, 1.42 inches in Putao, 1.35 inches in Pantanaw and 1.26 inches in Myaungmya.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Upper sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan States.
