It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and may reach over the Eastcentral Bay and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal and off and along Rakhine coasts and adjoining Deltic coasts. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm “MITAG” over South China sea has moved Northwestwards and still persists. It is likely to moved West-Northwestwards and cross the Southern Coast of China from the Guangdong during next 6 hrs.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah, Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough to very rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-13 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
