Bay of Bengal situation

A Low Pressure Areas may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. The southwest monsoon is likely to withdraw from northern Myanmar areas during 14th -19th September, 2026. Monsoon will be weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rain conditions and rainy days

Rain or thundershowers will be above normal in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Mon State, below normal in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and about normal in Yangon, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States.

Rainy days are expected about 8 to 10 days in Yangon, East Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, S Shan States and about 5 to 7 days in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, West Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Regions and Kachin, Kayah, NE Shan State.
