SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin, Nothern Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State, scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.03 inches in Mudon, 2.93 inches in Taungtha, 2.92 inches in Chaungsone, 2.84 inches in Sinbyugyun, 2.72 inches in Kawthaung, 2.36 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.17 inches in Gyobingauk, 2.10 inches in Danubyu, 1.77 inches in Namsan(Southern Shan) and 1.70 inches in Thaton.  

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, scattered in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Kayah, Chin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, (Northern and Southern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough sea will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
