SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Northern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kachin, Kayah, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Mon, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.83 inches in Hainggyigyun, 2.76 inches in Nahtogyi, 2.68 inches in Monywa, 2.40 inches in Thanlyin, 2.24 inches in Labutta, 2.13 inches in Mawlaik, 1.88 inches in Amarapura, 1.78 inches in Dadaye, 1.77 inches in Kyaunggon and 1.69 inches in Loilin.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 475 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), 180 Nautical miles East of Visakhapatnam and 120 Nautical miles Southeast of Gopalpur, India. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into a Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours and continuous to move West-Northwestwards and cross the North Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha Coasts between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur (India). Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough sea will be experiencedoff and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Chin, Mon States.
