SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Chin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern) State, fairly widespread in Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Bago and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 11.02 inches in Dawei, 3.23 inches in Tharrawady, 2.04 inches in Kawthaung, 2.01 inches in Chaungsone, 1.97 inches in Hlegu, 1.89 inches each in Okkan and Mawlamyine, 1.65 inches in Thaton, 1.58 inches in Myeik, 1.42 inches in Hinthada and 1.38 inches in Ye.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over the Taninthayi coastal, Myanmar and adjoining the Andaman Sea still persists. It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and may reach over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining the Deltaic, Ayeyarwady. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea, Southeast Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah, Chin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in  Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

 STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough sea will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Southern Shan States.
