SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Chin, Kayah States, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. Day temperature 2°C above May average temperature in Magway Region and 2°C below May average temperature in Yangon Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 44.2°C in Chauk, 40.4°C in Nyaung Oo, 39.6°C each in Gangaw and Sinbyugyun, 39.0°C in Pakokku, 38.8°C in Monywa, 38.7°C each in Myingyan and Myinmu, 38.6°C in Tada U(Avia-Met) and 38.0°C in Mingin on 23-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.82 inches in Thaton, 3.43 inches in Myanaung, 3.07 inches in Hmawbi(Agro-Met), 2.82 inches in Sittwe, 2.76 inches in Tharrawady, 2.60 inches in Kyaiklat, 2.44 inches in Maubin, 2.34 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.17 inches in Gyobingauk and 2.15 inches in Mawlamyinegyun. 

BAY INFERENCEMonsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated of heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
