Bay of Bengal Condition

  Southwest monsoon is likely to set in the whole country during    1st – 5th of June. Two low pressure areas may form over the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal and one may further intensify into a depression. During this period, monsoon will be moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rain Condition and Rainy Days

Rain or thundershowers are likely above normal in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Southern Shan States and about normal in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Northern and Eastern Shan States.

Rainy days are expected about 22 to 28 days in Yangon, East Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States, about 16 to 21 days in West Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Chin, Shan States and about 10 to 15 days in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions.
