BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and  Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Chin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern,Southen) Shan states. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
