SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Nothern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in  Naypyitaw and Magway Region, scattered in Yangon, Bago, Regions and Kayah, Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.50 inches in Dawei, 2.56 inches each in Thabeikkyin and Myeik, 2.44 inches in Mandalay, 2.40 inches in Hpa-an, 2.15 inches in Patheingyi, 2.13 inches in Paing Kyone, 2.01 inches in Bago, 1.67  inches in Ngazun, 1.65 inches each in Paung and Chaungsone and 1.61 inches in Tada U (Aviation).  

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Bay and Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Nothern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likehood of increase of rain in Bago,Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
