BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Chin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and isolated heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing,Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin,Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough sea are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. 

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 19th September 2026:                     Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and widespread in Yangon Region.
