SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah, Rakhine and Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.39 inches in Hainggyigyun, 2.20 inches in Myingyan, 2.17 inches in Myaungmya, 2.05 inches in Mohnyin, 1.77 inches in Hpa-an, 1.58 inches in Homalin, 1.50 inches in Coco Island, 1.38 inches in Kawthaung, 1.34 inches in Nahtogyi and 1.30 inches in Myinmu.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved West wards. It is centered at about 520 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Kyaukpyu (Myanmar), 70 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Visakhapatnam and 80 Nautical miles South of Gopalpur, India. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kayah and Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw and Kachin, Rakhine States and fairly widespread in Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough sea will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Continuations of thundery activities in Central Myanmar area.
