SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Kayah, Southern Shan States and isolated in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to  4°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States, 2°C above May average temperatures in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and 2°C below May average temperatures in Sagaing Region and Chin, Northern Shan States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were  41.5°C in Myawaddy, 41.3°C in Shwekyin, 41.0°C each in Bago and Tharrawady, 40.9°C in Kawkareik, 40.7°C in Hpa-an, 40.6°C each in Chauk and Theinzayet, 40.5°C in Gyobingauk and 40.4°C each in Aunglan and  Hinthada on 4-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.89 inch in Tachileik, 0.44 inch in Mongton, 0.43 inch in Loikaw, 0.32 inch each in Taungoo(Avia-Met) and Mongyang, 0.20 inch each in Kawthaung and Kalaw, 0.12 inch each in Taungtha and Pinlaung and 0.08 inch each in Lewe, Myingyan and Taungoo.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is ‌a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and isolated in the remaining Region and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States.
