SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Chin State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mon, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Magway Regions. Day temperature 3°C above May average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region, 2°C above May average temperatures Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Chin States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 38.7°C in Yeu, 38.0°C each in Minbu and Gangaw, 37.7°C in Mingin, 37.6°C in Tada U(Avia-Met), 37.5°C in Homalin, 37.4°C in Sagaing and 37.0°C each in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), Mawlaik and Myinmu on 28-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.78 inches in Madaya, 3.07 inches in Hmawbi(Agro-Met), 2.36 inches in Mawlamyinegyun, 2.18 inches in Mongping, 1.65 inches each in Yangon(Mingaladon) and Minbu, 1.54 inches in Yagon(Kaba-Aye), 1.50 inches in Yangon(Botahtaung), 1.46 inches in Naungcho and 1.42 inches in Labutta.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay, Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah, Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
