SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah State, scattered in Kachin, Chin, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions. Day temperature 3°C above May average temperature in Kachin, 2°C above May average temperatures Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Eastern Shan States and 2°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 36.7°C in Hkamti, 36.5°C in Nyaung Oo, 36.3°C in Kalewa, 36.0°C each in Mawlaik and Yeu, 35.7°C in Kalay, 35.6°C in Myitkyina and 35.5°C each in Minbu, Homalin and Mohnyin on 29-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.39 inches in Pathein, 3.94 inches in Einme, 3.50 inches in Thabaung, 2.83 inches in Ngathaichaung, 2.44 inches in Aunglan, 2.40 inches in Labutta, 2.36 inches each in Hlegu and Pyinoolwin(Zeepingyi), 2.17 inches in Naungcho, 2.09 inches each in Kyaukpyu and Manaung and 2.06 inches in Okpho.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay, Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northen and Southern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
