SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been fairly widespread in Kachin State and isolated in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin, (Northern & Eastern) Shan States. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Magway Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above April average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 44.2°C in Chauk, 43.5°C in Myingyan, 43.0°C in Myinmu, 42.2°C each in Nyaung Oo and Sinbyugyun, 42.0°C each in Mandalay and Sagaing, 41.8°C each in Minbu and Magway and 41.7°C in Taungdwingyi on 15-4-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.47 inch in Mogaung, 0.31 inch in Hsipaw, 0.27 inch in Hkamti, 0.08 inch each in Putao, Myitkyina and Machanbaw and 0.04 inch in Tada U (Aviation Met).
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a generally fair over the North Andaman Sea and Central Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th April 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, isolated in Mandalay Region and Chin, Rakhine, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be generally fair in Yangon, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in (Northern & Southern) Shan State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, (Northern and Southern)Shan States.
