SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Magway, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Kayah State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions. Day temperatures were 3°C above May average temperature in Taninthayi Region, 2°C above May average temperatures in Kachin, Kayin, Mon States and 2°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago Regions and 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Kayah, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 41.0°C each in Magway and Taungdwingyi, 39.4°C in Myinmu, 39.2°C in Kawkareik, 39.0°C each in Myingyan and Minbu, 38.4°C in Sinbyugyun, 38.3°C in Monywa and 38.0°C each  in Okkan, Pakokku and Homelin on 9-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.64 inches in Kalewa, 2.55 inches in Mogoke, 2.40 inches in Wundwin, 1.66 inches in Lashio, 1.57 inches in Kanbalu, 1.54 inches in Kyaukpadaung, 1.45 inches in Bogale, 1.42 inches in Loilin, 1.38 inches in Taunggyi and 1.26 inches each in Mingin and Mongyawng.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 11th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon, Southern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Southern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
