SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers has been isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin State, scattered in Kayah, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region. Day temperatures 2°C above May average temperature in Taninthayi Region and 2°C below May average temperatures in Upper Saging Region and Mon State, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Yangon, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Northern Shan States, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, 7°C to 8°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Southern Shan State, 10°C below May average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about May average temperatures in Kachin, Kayah, Chin States. The significant day temperatures 38.5°C in Kawkareik, 35.9°C in Monywa, 35.6°C in Gangaw, 35.4°C in Chauk, 35.2°C in Nyaung Oo, 35.1°C in Zaungtu, 34.6°C in Sinbyugyun and 34.5°C each in Pakokku, Zalun, Dawei and Kawthaung on 12-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.03 inches in Phyu, 1.81 inches in Gyobingauk, 1.34 inches in Labutta, 1.30 inches in Hainggyigyun, 0.98 inch in Naypyitaw(Dekkhinathiri) and Hinthada, 0.94 inch in Myaunmya, 0.91 inch in Taunggu, 0.87 inch each in Kyeikkhame and Taunggyi and 0.79 inch in Manaung.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area.Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Chin, Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Kachin, Kayah, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest Monsoon into the Southern Myanmar areas.
