SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.40 inches in Shwekyin, 4.64 inches in Madauk, 4.49 inches in Machanbaw, 2.76 inches each in Taungoo (Aviation), Myitkyina and Hpa-an, 2.71 inches in Mohnyin, 2.68 inches each in Yeu and Paung, 2.64 inches in Htamti, 2.52 inches in Shwebo and 2.20 inches in Kengtung. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Magway Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin State, isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Tainthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
