SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Kayah state, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Bago, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.94 inches in Shwekyin, 3.20 inches in Wundwin, 2.96 inches in Madauk, 2.87 inches in Belin, 2.76 inches in Naypyitaw (Ottarathiri), 2.56 inches in Pyinmana(Walgyi), 2.44 inches in Bago, 2.24 inches in Hpa-an, 2.17 inches each in Naypyitaw (Zayarthiri) and  Paung and 2.16 inches in Dedaye.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and  moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloudover the Westcentral and Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Northern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States.
