BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 16th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in  Bago Regions and and Chin,Rakhine States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and  Southern Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing,  Taninthayi Regions and  Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likehood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
