BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 18th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Chin, Nothern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon state and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likehood of increase of rain in Bago,Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
