BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 18:30 hrs MST today, a Low Pressure Area  over the North Andaman Sea still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may reach over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, during next 24 hours and intensify gradually into a Depressionover the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, during next 48 hours and than into a Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal, during next 72 hours. Continuing to move West-Northwestwards and it is likely to reach Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal near South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh, India during next 96 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 20th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah, Chin, (Northern and  Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Nayptitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago,  Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, (Northern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough sea will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
