SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah, Rakhine States. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.62 inches in Phyarpon, 2.86 inches in Dedaye, 2.65 inches in Hainggyigyun, 2.43 inches in Ngapudaw, 2.35 inches in Aunglan, 2.00 inches each in Kyeiklat and Myeik, 1.61 inches in Yangon(Kaba-Aye), 1.57 inches in Kawkareik and 1.54 inches in Yangon(Mingladon).

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into a Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours and into a Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours. Continuing to move West-Northwestwards and it is likely to reach over the North Andhra Pradesh Coasts- South Odisha, India. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States.
