SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershower have been isolated in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Magway and Bago Regions, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State, isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Yay (9.96)inches, Mudon (7.48)inches, Kyeikmayaw (6.92)inches, Launglone (5.08)inches, Dawei (4.41)inches, Mawlamyine and Chaungsone (4.29)inches each, Taungkok (3.35)inches, Homalin (3.27)inches, Hainggyikyun and Kyeikkhame (3.19)inches each, Coco Island (2.87) inches, Moemate (2.83)inches, Kawkayeit (2.72)inches, Paung (2.40)inches, Pinlebu (2.17)inches, Yamethin (1.97)inches, Kyainseikkyi (1.88)inches and Madaya (1.85)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 31st July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, fairly widespread Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan and Chin States, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Mon State, isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and  Taninthayi Regions,  Rakhine and Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Coastal areas.
