24.8.2026 According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and North Odisha, India now lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas of North Odisha, Jharkhand, India and Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and across West Bengal and adjoining areas of North Odisha and Jharkhand, India during next 24 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal . Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

PART ONE : According to the observations at (19:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has futher intensified into a depression and reached over Southeast Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about within (1/2) degree of lat (8.5) °N and lon (91.0) °E. It is forecast to move initially West-Northwest wards and then Northwest wards during next (72)hrs.
