SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State, scattered in Kayin State, weather has been partly cloudy to cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (7°C) above January average temperature in Eastern Shan State, (5°C) above January average temperature in Mon State, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Bago Region, Southern Shan, Kayah and Kayin States, about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-1°C) in Hakha, (4°C) in Moekok and (5°C) each in Pinlaung, Heho and Naungcho. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Dawei (1.50)inches, Launglone (1.18)inches, Hpa-an (0.87)inch, Myeik (0.83)inch and Yay (0.52)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Taninthayi coast and adjoining North Andaman Sea has become unimportant. Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and generally fair elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th January, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region, isolated in Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Bago and Yangon Regions, Shan and Kayah States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be moderate in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Slight decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States.
