Deep Depression Condition

          According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining (West Bengal- North Odisha) Coast (India) has moved Northwards and is crossing West Bengal Coast near Haldia,India.

Next 12 hours forecast

          It is likely to intensify into a Deep Depression, move North-Northwestwards and may cross inland areas of West Bengal state, India during next 12 hours. Squalls with rough sea are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.

People should be awared the natural disasters such as the heavy rainfall with strong wind, thunder, Lightning strike, lightning, hails, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and to make necessary preparations for inland water transport, domestic flight and irrigation dams.
