A slight earthquake of magnitude (3.8) Richter Scale with its epicenter inside Myanmar ( about (20) miles Southeast of Kalay Myo ) about (135) miles Northwest of Mandalay seismological observatory was recorded at (20)hrs (17)mins (29)secs  M.S.T on  5th October, 2017.
EARTHQUAKE NEWS (Issued at 14:45 hours  M.S.T Today) A slight earthquake of magnitude (4.5) Richter Scale with its epicenter inside Myanmar (about (31) miles Southeast of Mawlaik) about (126) miles Northwest of Mandalay seismological observatory was recorded at (14)hrs (16)min (21)sec M.S.T on  8th  December, 2016.
National Public Awareness Workshop on Acid Deposition and Other Related Atmospheric Pollutions in was held on 13, June, 2013 at Myat Taw Win Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar . The workshop was organized by the Acid Deposition Monitoring Network in East Asia (EANET), Asia Centre for Air Pollution and host by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH), Myanmar.
The 10 th Monsoon Forum 2013 , organized as part of project “ Reducing risk of tsunamis, storm surges, large waves and other natural hazards i n low elevation coastal zones ” supported by UNESCAP and with technical assistance from WMO and RIMES, was held in Myat Taw Win Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw at 3 May , 2013. At the opening ceremony, Director General of Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Dr Hrin Nei Thiam, delivered the welcome speech and Ms. Ruby Rose Policarpio, Institutional Development Specialist of RIMES has briefed about the Forum.
