SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin, (Northern and Southern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State, scattered in Naypyitaw and isolated in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, Eastern Shan States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State, 2°C above May average temperature in Mon State and 2°C below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Northern Shan States, 4°C below May average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and 5°C below May average temperatures in Kachin, Chin States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were  41.0°C in Myinmu, 40.5°C in Kawkareik, 40.3°C in Chauk, 39.8°C in Taungdwingyi, 39.5°C in Minbu, 39.4°C in Hpa-an (Agro-Met), 39.3°C in Myingyan and 39.0°C each in Nyaung Oo, Magway, Aunglan, Sinbyugyun, Dawei on 3-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.11 inches in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), 1.02 inches in Ywangan, 0.87 inch in Phyarpon, 0.75 inch in Pyinoolwin, 0.63 inch in Hakha, 0.60 inch in Patheingyi(Shwesayan), 0.51 inch each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), Patheingyi and Machanbaw and 0.48 inch each in Pyinmana and Myaungmya.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is ‌a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin, Southern Shan States, fairly widespread in Kachin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Eastern Shan States and isolated in the remaining Region and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Chin, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Shan States.
