SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been isolated in Kayah, Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. Day temperatures 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State, 2°C above May average temperature in Mon State and 2°C below May average temperature in Kayah State, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Eastern Shan States, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine, Southern Shan State, 7°C to 8°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Northern Shan State, 10°C to 11°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaings and about May average temperature in Yangon Region. The significant day temperatures 38.8°C in Kawkareik, 38.7°C in Hpa-an, 38.4°C in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 37.5°C in Dawei, 37.0°C in Mawlamyine, 36.8°C each in Mudon and Theinzayet, 36.5°C in Myeik, 36.4°C in Myawaddy and 36.3°C in Tharrawady on 11-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.80 inches in Ywangan, 2.50 inches in Bogale, 2.40 inches each in Ngathaichaung and Taunggyi, 2.25 inches in Labutta, 2.21 inches each in Yamethin and Nyaungshwe, 2.05 inches in Yangon(Kyauktan) and 1.93 inches in Kalaw.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to become more marked during next 36 hrs. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
