BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 7th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kachin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and  Chin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Tainthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Mandalay, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States.
