SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Chin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.74 inches in Kyaukpyu, 3.31 inches in Kyauktan, 2.44 inches in Shwekyin, 2.32 inches in Hpa-an(Agro), 2.28 inches in Hmawbi, 2.20 inches in Maubin, 2.17 inches in Myaungmya, 2.13 inches in Madauk, 2.08 inches in Belin and 2.03 inches in Nyaungdon.  

BAY INFERENCE: Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the Northern Myanmar areas.Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the Northwest Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Bago Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Southern Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likehood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
