SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Kayah, Eastern Shan Stetes, scattered in Kayin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.59 inches in Thabeikkyin, 2.20 inches in Bogale, 1.90 inches in Nyaungdon, 1.77 inches in Kyaukpadaung, 1.73 inches in Hsipaw, 1.70 inches in Patheingyi(Shwesayan), 1.34 inches in Dawei, 1.26 inches in Phyarpon, 1.22 inches in Coco Island and 1.18 inches each in Ngathaichaung, Hakha and Kyaukpyu. 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal (Near the offshore area of the Deltaic, Myanmar) still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and intensify gradually into a Depression over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours and into a Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours. Continuing to move West-Northwestwards and it is likely to reach Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal near South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh, India during next 72 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Kayah, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
