SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Kachin, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Yangon, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Southern Shan States and isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Northern Shan States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above March average temperature in Taninthayi Region and 3°C to 4°C below March average temperatures in Kachin, Kayah, Eastern Shan States and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 39.6°C in Chauk, 39.2°C each in Minbu and Magway, 39.0°C in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), 38.5°C each in Nyaung Oo, Taungdwingyi and Kawkareik, 38.4°C each in Aunglan and Myinmu and 38.3°C in Taunggu on 15-3-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.17 inches in Kyauktan, 1.50 inches in Machanbaw, 1.38 inches in Putao, 1.06 inches in Thabeikkyin, 0.79 inch in Homein, 0.68 inch in Mongywang, 0.61 inch in Mongton, 0.59 inch in Homalin, 0.51 inch in Yangon(Kaba-Aye) and 0.39 inch in Mohnyin.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th March 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, scattered in Shan State and isolated in Yangon, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah, Eastern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States.
