3-9-2025::  According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the northwest Bay of Bengal off North Odisha coast still persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and cross North Odisha and adjoining Jharkhand and North Chhattisgarh, India during next 24 hrs.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression No.3, 2016

Depression

          According to the observations at (12:00)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal remained practically stationary and it is centered  at about (75)miles  South-Southeast of Kolkata,  India. It is likely to intensify and forecast to move West- Northwest wards. 

The present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage. It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts.

 Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

          Depression is located at Latitude (21.3) degree North and Longitude (88.4) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (992) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is about (40)miles per hour at (12:30) hrs MST today.

 General caution

           Occasionally squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45) m.p.h.

Advisory

Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along  Myanmar Coasts are advised to avert in condition of depression.
