17-2-2026:According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure over the East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean on 18-2-2026. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

1.       During the period of March, April and May isolated rain or thundershowers are likely in the afternoon or evening accompanied with strong wind, hails, thunder and lightning, due to the convective cloud by gradually rising day temperatures in the whole country. Surface wind speed in strong wind may reach (40)mph to (50)mph.

2.         Public is advised to take necessary awareness with the weather events during March, April and May and domestic airlines and cruises are also advised to take precautionary measures.
