21-5-2025: Southwest monsoon has advanced into the Central Myanmar areas and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea, South Bay, Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past

(24) hours, ligth rain has been isolated in Kayin and Mon States, weather has been

generally fair in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions

and Kachin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night

temperatures were (3°C) below November average temperature in Shan (North and 

South) State, (2°C) below November average temperatures in Sagaing and

Taninthayi Regions and about November average temperatures in the remaining

Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (7°C)each in Heho

and Loilin, (8°C) in Hakah (10°C)each in Thipaw, Namsam and Tiddim.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and

partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (12:30) MST today, the

active low pressure cell  over the Gulf of Thailand has further intensified into a

tropical depression, it’s centered at (250) miles east-southeast of Phuket,

Thailand and is moving west-northwest slowly. It is forecast to cross the Thailand

Coast near Surat Thani and reach to Andaman Sea within next (24)hrs.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th NOVEMBER, 2017: Rain or

thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Kayah, Kayin

and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (60%). Weather will be generally fair in Upper

Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions

and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times

off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts. Surface winds speed in easterly winds may

reach (30-35)m.p.h. Seas will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

Wave height will be about (6 - 9) feet in off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts and

(3-5)feet elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of rain or thundershowers

in Taninthayi Region and Mon State.
