 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha Coasts, India during next 36 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Condition of Depression

            According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal, off North Andhra Pradesh­ Coast(India). It is centered at about (80)miles East-Northeast of Visakhapatnam and (83) miles South- Southwest of Gopalpur (India).

As it is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

            Depression is located at Latitude (17.9) degree North and Longitude (84.6) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1004) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35) miles per hour at (18:30) hrs MST today.

Next (24)hours Forecast

            It is moving Northeastwards and is forecast to weaken gradually during next (24)hours.

Under the influence of depression, fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States, scattered in Shan and Rakhine States, isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, during next (24) hours.                   

Advisory

Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised especially to notice  in condition of the depression.
