28-10-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards still persists. It is centered at about 630 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 210 Nautical miles Northeast of Chennai(India) and 70 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Kakinada (India).Weather is a few cloud over the Northeast Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Condition of Depression

            According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal, off South Odisha Coast(India) and its centered at about (125)miles South-Southwest of Paradip and (60)miles Southeast of Gopalpur (India).

As it is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

            Depression is located at Latitude (18.5) degree North and Longitude (85.5) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1004) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35) miles per hour at (06:30) hrs MST today.

Next (24)hours Forecast

            It is moving Northeastwards and is forecast to weaken into a low pressure area during next (24)hours.

Under the influence of depression, fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States, scattered in Shan and Rakhine States, isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, during next (24) hours.

Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised especially to notice  in condition of the depression.
