 25-7-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and further intensify into a Depression over West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 18 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to cross Genetic West Bengal, North Odisha, Jharkhand and adjoining North Chhattisgarh during next 2 days. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Cyclonic Storm

According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 750 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 55 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 60 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 996 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour.

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” is coded as yellow stage.

Forecast

 It is likely to move Westwards and may cross North Tamil Nadu coast near Puducherry (India) tonight.

Due to the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”, rain are likely to be isolated to scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States during next 24 hours.
