28-10-2025:According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and reached over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is centered at about 585 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 195 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Chennai(India), 160 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely continue to move North-Northwestwards and intensify into Severe Cyclonic Storm during next 6 hours and cross Andhra Pradesh Coast during next 24 hours. Weather is Cloudy over the West central Bay of Bengal, a few cloud to partly cloudy  Andaman Sea  and lsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Early Monsoon Period

The early monsoon period is establishment of Southwest Monsoon over Myanmar to the end of June.

Onset of Southwest Monsoon

          Southwest monsoon is likely to set in:

  1. Southern Myanmar  Areas during (16th – 20th of May)
  2. Deltaic Areas during (21st – 25th of May)
  3. Central Myanmar Areas during (26th – 31st of May)
  4. Northern Myanmar Areas during (1st – 5th of June)

Bay of Bengal Condition

Three Low Pressure Areas may form over the Bay of Bengal and one may further intensify into the Depression. During the early monsoon period, monsoon will be moderate to strong.

Rain Condition

Rain will be expected above normal in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon, Rakhine States and about normal in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Shan States
